The first batch of B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering joined the campus in the year 1984 with a student strength of 15. The faculty strength of the department is twenty one, comprising of two Professors, four Associate Professors, fourteen Assistant Professors and an adjunct professor. The department has the fortune of having the best students through Common Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the State. Their academic excellence is reflected in the best placement history of the department, as well as the significant number of students gaining admissions for higher studies in institutions of national and international repute.  The department has a long tradition of producing technically competent engineers since 1988 and it has renowned alumni occupying prominent positions in the industry, academia and research all over the world.
